Chemical News & Interesting

Chemistry is the understanding, the definition and the description of the structure and the behavior of matter, the matter that surrounds us and the matter we are consisting off. It is our history, our life and our future. It is sometimes called the central science because of its role in connecting the other physical sciences (physics, astronomy, earth sciences) with the life sciences (biology, medicine) and engineering. There are many approaches to studying this fascinating science but for convenience and historical reasons has been divided it into five fields: analytical, biological, inorganic, organic and physical chemistry.

Chemistry is a challenging subject to teach and even more challenging to learn. This site is based on our experience in teaching chemistry to chemical science majors and to college and senior high-school students. These students with excellent academic credentials strive to learn both the fundamental concepts of chemistry - basic chemical principles - and to develop their analytical skills.

Our mission with this site is to offer a comprehensive online guide for helping students with their study and undertstanding in Chemistry!

"We think there is color, we think there is sweet, we think there is bitter, but in reality there are atoms and a void" (Democritus, 460-370 BC)

"Every aspect of the world today – even politics and international relations – is affected by chemistry" (Linus Pauling, 1901-1994)

"Chemistry is necessarily an experimental science: its conclusions are drawn from data, and its principles supported by evidence from facts" (M. Faraday, 1791-1867)

"Knowing without seeing is at the heart of chemistry" (Roald Hoffman, 1937)

"The laws of physics and chemistry are statistical throughout (Erwin Schrodinger, 1887 - 1961)
